Wednesday, April 9, 2014

A drawing by Anne Patterson, Department of Architecture Lecturer, has been given an award of excellence by the American Society of Architectural Illustrators.

It will be shown at the ASAI’s 29th annual Architecture in Perspective convention and exhibition in Dallas October 14-19. It will also be published in the society’s annual, also called “Architecture In Perspective.”

The drawing’s title is of Patterson’s living room, and titled, “1142 Rhode Island Home.” She drew it in a notebook in about 50 minutes using a ballpoint pen.

It is one of approximately sixty works that will be displayed at the show, chosen from hundreds of entries that came in from around the globe.

Patterson has a Graduate Diploma in Architecture with Distinction, and a Bachelor of Architecture from the Edinburgh College of Art, Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, Scotland. She has taught at KU since 1993, and has extensive experience working as a professional architectural renderer.

The ASAI was founded in 1986. It is an international non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of the architectural illustration profession. It represents the business and artistic interests of this group throughout North America and the world.
