Intisar Ameen Tyne, a PhD candidate in Healthcare Arcitecture at the University of Kansas, researches the gender based disparity created by classification and distribution systems of patients in mental hospitals. Her work has been supported by grants from American Association of University Women (AAUW). Intisar’s current research analyses the disparity in Bangladeshi mental hospitals. After completing her first professional degree in architecture, she worked as a faculty member of the Stamford University Bangladesh. She received her B. Arch. Degree from the University of Asia Pacific, and her M.A. from KU. Intisar spent her childhood in the culturally diversified city of Dhaka in Bangladesh.
